To love - God, others and ourselves.
‘The most important one [commandment],’ answered Jesus, ‘is this: “Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.” The second is this: “Love your neighbour as yourself.” There is no commandment greater than these.’
To be ourselves in the family of God - Accepting diversity whilst seeking unity in Christ.
How good and pleasant it is
when God’s people live together in unity!
To reflect the glory of God in all we are and in all we say and do.
Trusting that the Holy Spirit of God will transform us and in recognition that we are all a work in progress, we seek to reflect the glory of God in who we are and in all we say and do:
- To actively deepen in our love and understanding of God, loving and accepting others for who they are and loving and accepting ourselves.
- To proclaim the Gospel in word and deed, whenever and wherever the opportunity presents.
To develop a relational multi-cultural Church
St Bede with St Clement is working towards becoming a relational multi-cultural church. We want to build strong relationships with our Christian brothers and sisters who worship in our church buildings. Currently we host two congregations, one from the Iranian Church, and another from the Apostolic Church Liverpool. Each of our congregations has their own Sunday worship service and we are developing close bonds through joint ministry and worshipping together on special occasions.
The leaders of the congregations regularly meet with the vicar to discuss and plan how we move forward in deepening our relationship with God and with one another and in discerning God’s will for us in this place. We are a church that celebrates our diversity in culture and denomination, along with our unity in Christ. We also hold the joint vision of seeing the church continuing to grow and being a symbol of Christ's light in our parish.
